
Start your CUB SCOUT Adventure
Cub Scouting is a program designed for children ages 5 to 10 that inspires adventure, learning, and character-building. It’s about making friends, exploring new interests, and having fun while developing valuable skills. Troop 86 proudly serves the families of Lyndhurst, NJ, and all of South Bergen County, welcoming Scouts from towns across the region.
In Cub Scouts, your child will:
- Participate in exciting outdoor activities like camping, hiking, and fishing.
- Learn teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Earn badges for completing fun and educational challenges.
- Build confidence and make lifelong memories with friends.
Cub Scouting is divided into age-specific groups:
- Lion (Kindergarten)
- Tiger (1st Grade)
- Wolf (2nd Grade)
- Bear (3rd Grade)

How to Join Troop 86
Joining Cub Scouts with Troop 86 is simple! Follow these steps:
1 – Find a Pack Near You Troop 86 serves Lyndhurst, NJ, and all surrounding towns in South Bergen County.
2 – Reach out to our troop leaders to learn about our schedule, meeting location, and upcoming events. We’re happy to answer your questions and help you get started.
3 – Attend a Meeting. Join us for a meeting to meet our Scouts, see the program in action, and find out why families from all over South Bergen County choose Troop 86. Scroll down to see upcoming events and meetings.
4 – Complete the Registration. Sign up online or in person to officially join
