5th New Jersey State Police National Guard Camporee from 5/19/17 to 5/21/17

Scouts, Scouters and parents,

Friday May 19th to Sunday May 21st is the 5th New Jersey State Police / National Guard Camporee in Sea Girt, NJ.

This trip is for the Troop and Crew only.

Troop 86 and Crew 86 is registered for this event.  Like most Camporees, there is an early registration period and upfront payment so that we may secure a campsite.  The Troop voted collectively to attend this event.

As of this e-mail, I have pre-paid for 16 Scouts and 6 Scouters.  The full weekend’s cost appears to be approximately $45 per person.  That includes meals (3 on Saturday and Sunday breakfast), activities, event t-shirt, event patch etc.

Confirmed activities thus far:

Climbing Walls, Vortex Cannon, Physical Fitness Competitions, Welding, Geocaching, Primitive Fire Building, Police Dog Demo, Rope Bridge, Knots and Lashings, Sumo Suits, Fingerprinting, Circuit Boards and Electricity Demo, Radio Communication/ Morse Code, Gaga Ball, Solar Power Demo, and much more!!

Also, as part of the Camporee, is a STEM / Cyber project competition that all Troops and Crews are encouraged to enter.  Attached please find a form with rules and criteria for judging STEM / Cyber Projects.

In the coming days, I will need a firm commitment if you’re attending the trip AND your preferred t-shirt size, as these need to be pre-ordered.

I would also like to have a mini-meeting so that Scouts may vote if they wish to participate in the STEM / Cyber project competition.  If we participate, it shall be “all hands on deck”, on an agreed upon project.

If you would like to obtain additional information about this event, please access this link –

Any questions please feel free to contact me via email or cell 973-985-9555.
